Our Company History

Len Thornton started L.D. Thornton and Associates in the 1970's after being a salesman for Kawanee Boiler, American Standard, & Iron Fireman. His focus on quick quote turn around, follow up visits, being able to do start up, and his knowledge of systems built a loyal customer base which continues to this day. Len did business on a handshake and added Mike McDermott as an associate in 1988. 1989 was the year Len retired and Mike became the principle owner. Pete Krieg P.E. was Mike's first associate and added much needed Bryan Boiler experience to L.D. Thornton. The employment contract with Pete was done with a handshake and continued until his retirement in 2002. Lane Blackwell, the next member of the Thornton team was added in September of 2002. Lane brought 19 years of experience from Bryan Boiler working in field service, electrical engineering, and boiler feed system design. Lane has been to all the major burner schools and his knowledge of equipment and control wiring is top in the industry. Both Mike and Lane are thankful for knowing both Len and Pete. These guys taught us how to serve our customers, we are thankful for their example.
